Customers can manage their email service from Knox, the new oXnames customer portal. The email control centre shows the mailboxes attached to the service and provides practical controls without requiring access to a complicated server administration panel.
From Knox, customers can:
- Create new mailboxes
- Change mailbox passwords and storage allowances
- Suspend or restore a mailbox
- Delete mailboxes with confirmation protection
- Create and remove email forwarders
- See mailbox usage and service limits
- Open secure webmail
- Find the correct connection settings for their assigned mail server
As we add more email servers, Knox automatically uses the hostname of the server assigned to each customer. This means connection information remains accurate as the platform grows.
Use your email on the devices you already own
The service uses standard secure email protocols, so you are free to use the applications that suit you.
Mailboxes can be connected to:
- Microsoft Outlook
- Apple Mail on macOS, iPhone and iPad
- Email applications on Android devices
- Mozilla Thunderbird
- Other applications supporting secure IMAP and SMTP
IMAP keeps messages synchronised between devices. Read or organise an email on your phone and the change will also appear on your computer and in webmail.
Secure Roundcube webmail
Every customer can also use oXnames webmail through a browser. Roundcube provides a familiar mailbox interface for reading, replying to and organising messages without installing another application.
Customers sign in using their complete email address and mailbox password. Our branded webmail gateway is designed to provide a consistent route into the correct email service while the underlying platform expands.
Encrypted connections
Supported email clients connect using encrypted protocols, including IMAP over SSL/TLS and authenticated SMTP using SSL/TLS or STARTTLS. Knox displays the correct server hostname and port information for the customer’s assigned service.
Strong, unique passwords should still be used for every mailbox. Customers can update a mailbox password directly from the email control centre whenever required.
