Include the affected domain, URL, IP address or email headers and explain what you observed. For immediate danger, contact the emergency services first.
Overview
This process covers suspected abuse involving oXnames domains, DNS, websites, email, hosting and server services. We assess reports against the available evidence, applicable law, registry rules, our Terms and relevant acceptable-use obligations.
What you can report
- phishing, impersonation or credential theft;
- malware, viruses, botnets or unauthorised system access;
- spam, abusive email or misuse of mail services;
- illegal or harmful content;
- copyright, trade mark or other intellectual-property infringement;
- fraud, scams or deceptive activity; and
- use of hosting or network services that breaches our Terms.
How to report abuse
Email abuse@oxnames.com. Existing customers may also submit a secure ticket through Knox Support. Please use a working contact address in case we need clarification.
Information and evidence
Include as much of the following as is available:
- the domain name, complete URL, IP address, email address or account reference;
- a clear explanation of the suspected abuse and when it occurred;
- complete URLs rather than only screenshots;
- full email headers for spam, phishing or mail complaints;
- screenshots, logs, reports or other supporting material; and
- your contact details and any relevant case or legal reference.
How reports are reviewed
We first assess whether the report concerns a service within our control and whether the evidence supports further action. We may contact the customer, request more information, restrict or suspend a service, update DNS, lock a domain, notify a registry or cooperate with competent authorities.
Actions are proportionate to the evidence, urgency and applicable rules. Privacy, legal and security obligations may prevent us from sharing full details of an investigation or outcome.
Urgent risk and law enforcement
If someone is in immediate danger or a crime is in progress, contact the emergency services or appropriate law-enforcement body first. We cooperate with valid lawful requests and preserve or disclose information where legally required.
