Last updated: July 18, 2026

Overview

oXnames takes abuse reports seriously. This page explains how to report misuse involving domain names, DNS, hosting, email or other services supplied by oXnames.

We review reports based on the evidence provided, applicable law, registry rules, our terms and acceptable use requirements.

What can be reported?

You can report suspected misuse including:

  • Phishing, impersonation or credential theft.
  • Malware, viruses, botnets or harmful downloads.
  • Spam, abusive email activity or mail server misuse.
  • Illegal content or content that may seriously harm others.
  • Copyright, trademark or intellectual property concerns.
  • Domain names being used for fraud, scams or deceptive activity.
  • Hosting activity that breaches our terms or acceptable use rules.

How to report abuse

Please send abuse reports to abuse@oxnames.com. You can also contact support through https://www.oxnames.com/help/.

If you are an oXnames customer and the report relates to your own account, please open a support ticket from the account where possible.

Evidence to include

Reports are easier to review when they contain clear evidence. Please include:

  • The domain name, URL, IP address, email header or account reference involved.
  • A short explanation of the suspected abuse.
  • Full URLs rather than screenshots alone.
  • Email headers for spam, phishing or mail abuse.
  • Screenshots, logs or third-party reports where available.
  • Your contact details in case we need more information.

How we review abuse reports

We assess reports to decide whether the matter involves oXnames services and whether action is appropriate. Action may include contacting the customer, requesting evidence, suspending a service, disabling hosting, updating DNS, locking a domain, reporting the matter to a registry, or cooperating with law enforcement where legally required.

We may not be able to share detailed outcomes with the reporter because of privacy, legal and security reasons.

Urgent risk

If there is an immediate threat to life, safety or serious criminal activity, please contact the relevant emergency service or law enforcement authority first. We will cooperate with lawful requests from appropriate authorities.
