Transfer a domain and use an auth code
Prepare a domain for transfer and provide the correct authorisation code.
OXWritten by oXnames SupportChecked against the current Knox workflow
WHERE TO GO IN YOUR ACCOUNTKnox > Shop services > Transfer a domain
Get the right details ready
Check that the domain is unlocked, the registrant email works and the domain is outside any registry transfer lock.
Security first. Never include account passwords, card details or authentication codes in a support ticket.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS
Make the change in Knox
Work through each step in order. Keep this guide open in another tab if that is easier.
- 1
Confirm that the domain is eligible for transfer.
- 2
Unlock it at the current registrar where required.
- 3
Request or copy the transfer authorisation code.
- 4
Start Transfer a domain in Knox and follow the registry instructions.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Check that it worked
The transfer enters Pending status while the current registrar and registry process it.
IF IT DOES NOT LOOK RIGHT
Try this before contacting support
Check every value for spaces or typing mistakes. If Knox rejects a valid value, leave the existing settings in place and ask support to check the registry response.
